When we first discovered we were pregnant, I couldn't wait to start on the nursery.
The room that would become Lane's room was our guest room/office/storage area/big room full of junk. We first had to empty that room before we could really start on getting it baby-ready. Once empty, we finished the trim in the room, installed new closet doors, and also installed shelves in the closet to help with organizing. (I say "we", but really Josh did all the work. He just let me pick stuff out and come up with the ideas.)
We knew that if we had a boy, we wanted to do a sports theme. Josh is a sports N-U-T, and I knew that if we went with sports, he would want to be actively involved in picking out decor for the room, which I wanted.
Now that Lane's room is complete, I am so happy with how it turned out. I didn't want his room to be too "babyish"; I wanted it to grow with him, and be a room he would be happy with as an older child as well (minus the crib and changing table!).
Now for the pictures:
Ikea Hemnes Dresser (which ROCKS) The canvas print is of Safeco Field, and Ichiro is up to bat. We love it because it continues the sports theme, but also relates it to where we live. |
Bookshelf filled with books from our baby shower. The baseball print hanging above it was my brother's when we was little. |
Changing table (I have a cloth diapers post coming up soon!) |
Ignore the bright light from the window. |
His closet- filed to maximum capacity. |
His bedding is "Junior Varsity" from Pottery Barn Kids (GREAT quality!) |
My friend Kristina gave us this frame at our shower- it has a special place for Lane's bracelet from the hospital! Wonderful keepsake. |

LOVE it! You both did a great job! Thanks for sharing! I think my favorite picture was his closet. :) So organized, so full of cute baby things, so colorful. He's a lucky, blessed little boy!
